What is Interota?

Interota is a worldwide Rotaract meeting, held every that is organized and sponsored by Rotaractors every three years. It provides Rotaractors with a forum for sharing ideas, concerns, and experiences with other Rotaract club members around the world. Participants are also treated to sightseeing and other cultural events throughout the weeklong event.
Although Interota is not an official Rotary International meeting, the RI Board of Directors recognizes its value and supports the event by approving its program content and by ensuring representation of RI leadership.
This triennial meeting offers workshops, discussions, and speakers on topics of interest. It is also an opportunity to network and socialize with fellow Rotaractors from around the world. At the meeting, delegations from various countries present conference proposals for the upcoming Interota, and participants then, vote to select the next meeting site.

The first Interota was organized in Johannesburg, South Africa in 1981 with more than 450 Rotaractors in attendance. Egypt will host the 11th Interota for the 1st time in 2011. To date, INTEROTA conferences have been hosted by Rotaractors in Australia, Brazil, England, Mexico, South Africa, Turkey, Germany and Korea. International meetings for Rotaractors are also held every year at the Rotaract Pre-convention Meeting that precedes Rotary’s annual convention.

We believe that focusing on providing good education to the coming generations will allow a better understanding of the world and will create tolerance through which people can live by the aspect of the world being a shared place.

Finally, a gift to the whole world by engaging the participants in a week program activities designed to allow them to come up with resolutions for a better future as they return back home. Moreover, there is a great cultural and sightseeing package planned so that you can see a country famous for its culture, enjoy its magic and glamour, and experience life in it on the inside! Our program includes visits to Egypt's most attractive sites.

Egypt is a truly unique country, it’s an Arab African nation, straight in the heart of the Middle East, and so it embraces the flavors of the orient, with the essence of the African spirit. We aim to create an exceptional Egyptian experience, where participants will take back with them their memories of the glories they revisited, the exotic festivities they attended, where fusing all that together is the reputed Rotaract activism.
